Instagram is where you sell.
It is not where you get paid.

Most makers we meet are already selling. The work is on a grid, the customers are in the messages, and an order is a bank transfer arranged over four replies. It holds until it is Sunday night, you have nine conversations open, and you cannot remember who asked for the blue one. There is a fuller comparison of a shop and an Instagram account if that is the choice you are weighing.

A website is the part that does not need you awake. Somebody finds the piece, reads the price, and the order arrives written down. You still talk to them. You stop being the order system.

Half the owners here are the only business in their category. There was never going to be a template for somebody who presses wildflowers into resin, which is why every site is written from scratch rather than filled in.

Can they pay on the site?

Not yet, and we would rather say so here than have you find out at the till. The order reaches you complete and you take payment the way you already do. Paying on the site is being built.

What if I only make one thing?

Then the site is about one thing. Nothing here assumes a catalogue, a range or a stock system you do not have.

I have no photographs yet.

Send what you have, even if it is three pictures on your phone. They get cropped for every place they appear, and you add more by sending more.
