SiteSpin
Compared with Wix

Both build you a website.
Only one keeps running it.

Wix hands you an editor. This page is about the year after you have finished using it.

The short version

Wix does a lot well.

Wix gives you a drag-and-drop editor and hundreds of templates, and anyone who enjoys design work will get further with it than they will with us. That control is the whole point of Wix. It is also why so many Wix sites are half finished a year later: every change is yours to make, and you have a business to run.

SiteSpin makes the opposite trade. You answer questions, we make the design decisions, and when something needs changing you say what is different.

The table

What it takes to do the same thing.

Seven questions, answered for both. Two of them Wix answers better, and those are on the list because leaving them off would make the other five worth less.

The difference underneath all of it

Their AI hands you a draft and then hands you the editor.

That sounds like a small difference and it is the whole thing, because the editor is exactly what stopped these owners having a website in the first place. Here, asking for a booking system costs you what changing the hours costs. On an editor one is a Tuesday evening and the other is a plugin hunt.

Sites that came off Wix.

Three sites SiteSpin wrote. Ours, and all three live.

ember-and-wick.sitespin.app
Ember & Wick, a candle studio in Bristol
Takes orders
duskwork.sitespin.app
Duskwork, a clothing label
Takes orders, with sizes
elias-roth.sitespin.app
Elias Roth, a photographer
Shows work, then gets enquiries
Choose Wix if

Any of these is you.

We would rather you read this now than find it out in a month.

You enjoy design work and want to move every block yourself
You need to take card payments on the site this month
You want an app market with thousands of things in it
You are building the website for somebody else

Three common objections

"But I want to control every detail of the design."
Then Wix Editor or Wix Studio is probably the right tool. SiteSpin removes pixel-level control deliberately. The trade-off is real and worth being honest about. If you want the canvas, take the canvas.
"What if I need ecommerce later?"
SiteSpin doesn't ship a checkout in v1. If you need to sell products on your site today, Wix Stores is the better fit. If you sell on Etsy or Shopify already and want a brand site that links to your listings, SiteSpin works fine.
"Will SiteSpin sites look as professional as Wix template sites?"
The output quality bar is the same one this marketing site holds itself to. Sites are fast, responsive, accessible, and SEO-friendly. The difference is that SiteSpin sites are written from scratch for your business rather than fitted into a template.

Common questions

Can I import a Wix site into SiteSpin?
Not today. SiteSpin generates from scratch based on your chat description, not from imported HTML. If you have content from a Wix site you want to bring over, paste the text into the SiteSpin chat as part of describing your business.
Can I use my existing Wix-purchased domain with SiteSpin?
Yes. Wix lets you transfer or point domains. With SiteSpin Pro, the app shows you how to point your domain at your SiteSpin site.
What if SiteSpin doesn't have a feature I need?
Tell us. Reach out through the contact form. Roadmap is driven by what real users ask for. Until a feature ships, Wix's broader catalog may be the right answer for that specific need.
